Did Martin Short really deserve that Razzie nomination?

Did Martin Short really deserve a Razzie nomination for his role as Jack Frost in Santa Clause 3? Personally, I think Short's performance is one of the few good things about the movie. Furthermore, I think if Short had done that same role the same way in a better movie, he would have received more critical acclaim.

Well first off, I don't really know what a Razzie was. Second off, I thought his performance was excellent in the movie. I mean if he wasn't in it, I don't think I would have enjoyed the movie as much. Also it looks like they didn't look so much about the quality of the movie but more at the quality of the actor. I think it says something about him as an actor that he is able to do a great performance in a movie that probably isn't the best movie out there.

Don't be afaird if you don't know what something is, I bet you know that the Oscars are for the best jobs that have happened within the past year, the Golden Raspberry awards, are the opposite of what the Oscars are. They were all started up back in 1981, for the year 1980. You can read mrope about them at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Raspberry_Awards . But just keep in mind of what I told you, these awards are the opposite of what the Oscars are for, and usually they are handed out the day before the Oscars are. And they might also not be be prompted as much as the Oscars are, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist.

No. Martin Short did NOT deserve the razzie nomination.

agreed...I think this movie was pretty good...can't please everyone and some people are pretty stupid when it comes to movies and have no humour at all

He saved the movie for me.

This is a Razzie screw-up.

I did believe a Razzie exists I just don't know what it is. Just had to clear that up.

reply

Yep, a Razzie was something he definitely deserved.

He was perfect for the role...but it looks like they filmed all of his scenes in one take. It's like they didn't even try.

I know what Razzies are...but I was not aware that Martin Short was nominated for it. That sucks, I did not think this was a horrible performance. He acted awesome in it, and I think even the script for him was good (there where some parts I'll admit did not do it for me)....
I think the whole thing about Lucy and her warm hugs where the only part that really bugged me, they should have had another way to turn Jack, or have him trapped in a snowglobe himself or something (like the way they turned Toy Santa into a little toy, keeping him bad)

yea what was there deal with the razzie for anything in this film...it does lack the charm of the 1st...but it does make up 10 fold for the 2nd one. and martin short did indeed save this movie for me without a doubt

I loved him in this movie... Jack Frost is an AMAZING character.
There is no way he deserves being called the worse in anything ....

reply

No he didn't. Martin Short for me was the most entertaining actor in the movie.

Honestly, I agree with the people above - he was the best part of the movie. That's not saying much, but still, he definitely did not deserve the Razzie nomination. The guy who played Curtis (something Breslin) did. maybe he did. I don' tknow. Either way, i think Martin Short gave a pretty good performance considering the material he had to work with.

He did go a little overboard at times (specially during the scenes where he's SANTA). But overall, I did like his performance. The worst was actually Spencer Breslin (as he was in the 2nd movie). I'm surprised he wasn't even in the ballots, considering that he was in the same 3 movies Tim Allen was.
