This movie is incredible. Shyamalan fans hate good cinema.

Fans of Shyamalan don't like this movie because it's too complex for them. Sorry, kids.

This movie is incredible, and none of his other films come close to it in writing, acting, mood, atmosphere, nothing.

Yes exactly, and punch line is it is simply a kid's bedtime story, ie these same teens/adults BEFORE they were Carefully Taught to be Americans WOULD have understood.

That is why Vietnamese mum has bloke curl up like a kid as she explains it to him.

But correct, it is way too complex for J Doe so he turns to what he has been Carefully Taught and HATES.

I agree completely! Absolutely stunning and beautifully crafted movie!!

Are you trying to troll? This was as simple as it gets. I'm not saying it is bad, I liked the atmosphere and weird characters, but complex? :D Surely not.

I liked it and I'm a M Night fan. One of my favorites, despite popular opinion. My friend liked it so much, she never returned my Blu Ray copy.

WRONG on both points.
I am a Big Shyamalan fan and I thought this was good. But very different from his earlier ones. I don't think it could comfortably placed in a particular niche. He said it best,
a fairy tale, a modern fairy tale. whimsical, a little scary. Certainly not much like anything else. Which can be GOOD.

None others came close? Atmosphere, the Village.
Acting, Signs, Joaquin Phoenix, Cherry Jones, Mel Gibson (you don't have to like him..just face the truth.)....
and...the perfect..Abigail Breslin.."Why can't they get girlfriends? " all of her material as -writing-

mood...6th Sense, The Village and Unbreakable

This movie is perfect. Those who dont like it have poor taste in art.

I just watched it for the first time. It is on HBO/MAX. I loved it, odd how I had not know of it's release in 2006. It's a lovely, well acted family film . It's not not right to compare this film to six sense... Completely different story. And there is only one six sense.
