the credits rolled absurdly fast at the end

I saw this on TV last night and the credits were rolling at like 90 miles an hour. Was it like that when it was in the movies? What's the point. It was impossible to read anyone's name. Was it some sort of joke?

They do that for movies when they are on TV. I imagine it is done this way for time constraints so the network can show previews/promos for other shows.

I've never noticed them do that for TV before.

It's to fit it into the time slot. If they have the time, credits role at the usual pace. If they can show it without cutting the film down for time, then they make up for it at the end. I beleive that they are probably contractually obligated to show the credits, it just doesn't say how.

Thank God for IMDb! I usually come to this site well before the credits role.

If we all liked the same movie, there'd only be one movie!
