That condo was huge!

How many square feet do you think it was? What would something like that go for in Chicago? And no way those two could afford it, right?

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Apparently I don't know anything about condos because I thought it looked like a small place.

reply

No offense, but you're right. Apartments of any kind are always smaller than houses, if that's the comparison you're making.

I thought the condo was huge for what they probably could actually afford. Although I'm sure Jennifer picked up a lot of tricks on how to get a great living arrangement on a small salary from her days as Rachel Green.

In NYC, in a nice neighborhood, a 2 BR like that would go for at least 2 million. Probably closer to 2.5 or 3 million. In my neighborhood (TriBeCa) it's 1350 per square foot. In a less nice neighborhood, it might be 1150 per sq ft. In the part of Boston where The Town takes place, it's about 250 per sq ft.

They do this in more movies than I can count. Why, I don't know. In fact Jennifer had some swanky NY apt in the Bounty Hunter that I'm pretty positive would go for close to $1 million, if not over. And she was a no name newspaper reporter living alone. In real life she'd be able to afford a broom closet in that neighborhood. I really don't know why set producers/location scouts choose to ignore this.

Well she was an art seller for, what seemed like, a well known artist. She probably made 6 figures. And Gary's family owned the major tour guide of Chicago. They finally were able to go beyond buses. So he probably made 6 figures too. But Brooke made more. As far as size, it was a 1 bedroom, and they had a corner apartment, which are typically bigger. I think it was the right size for them. Just seemed bigger with the long hallway. But their bedroom looked small.
