5.8?? Come on that is agreeably low right?

Comedies tend to have lower ratings, my guess is because the amount of uptight, pretentious movie "experts" on this site whose individual ratings awarded save the world.

But 5.8 for Aniston and Vaughn playing two roles that highlight the specific talents for which people love them and got them to where they are professionally? I mean, if you are fans of the two I can't see how you can ask for more in a comedy with the pair?

5.8 is remarkably low in my opinion. Anyone else?

I don't get it as well, and I am not, rephrase - was not a huge fan of either JA or VV.

Ran on the Romance channel tonight and I decided to watch it again with the wife. I was shocked to see the 5.8 rating.

Both VV and JA put a tear in my eye in various scenes, and I'm a guy. Had to hold back with the wife watching it :)

Underrated movie.

I gave it an 8 - it takes a serious matter and shows it through all the stages to its finality. Don't get the 5.8 either...

I think people should rate a film relative to others in its own genre. I don't think this occurs on imdb. As it compares to other rom coms this is a solid 7.

thats crazy! i give it at least an 8.. love the movie..seen it at least 10 times.. people do not know a good movie when they see one!

Outstanding movie with a great cast. Unique opening, open-ended end.

I loved it. It's rare for a comedy to have that perfect blend of GOOD comedy and drama, to create an interesting story. I've seen it many times since 2006. It's a small gem of a movie. 5.8 is way way too low for this

It's good, it should at least be rated 6 on average, 6.5 makes sense. The acting is fine, good new take, I really feel the pain in this, and most importantly it has some of the funniest lines ever. Then if you look at it critically, You'll see that the only issue you can really think of is that the ending is somewhat predictable. It's not one of the best all time but it's pretty good, anyone non pretentious person would give it no less than a 6. Me personally I think it's a 7 or 7.5.

So people aren't allowed to have an opinion about a movie?

To me it felt horribly boring and plodding with little to no chemistry between the couple. As a comedy, it failed to bring anything new to the table and I considered one scene to be funny (the "I get it." near the end). I say 4/10.
