Cliffhanger

Not a huge fan of this decision. It’s a bubble show that probably should have been cancelled last year. Now there is a chance it will be left unresolved. It wasn’t even a very good episode. :-/

Boy, do I agree. It's the most Reid we've got all season and it wasn't worth it. Let's bring in an Agent we've never heard of with an unbelievable storyline, yeah that's good. But that's what they've been doing for the last few years, fantasy storylines.

I think they set up a cliffhanger in hopes of pushing a renewal. But I don't know anything about how they go by ratings and what shows to renew and cancel, but it hasn't been at its high standards in many years. I think it could go either way.

Yeah I believe the cliffhanger was meant to push the renewal. We should know in a few days. TVbytheNumbers gives it a 75% chance of renewal. It’s 18-49 demo while not great are still better than some shows they have already renewed even if the overall audience has declined a lot. The cast I think still has a year left on their contracts which could give incentive to give it another go. If they do I would almost prefer a half season kind of deal to wrap up the series.

Since the cast have another year, I think it will get renewed and plus I think they'd like to know when it's over and end the series, but I don't think there is much "wrapping up" other than that cliffhanger...
Criminal Minds isn't a show that needs a series finale that shows us where everyone is going, they all seem pretty cozy at the BAU. Now, that weird small arc they did with Barnes would've been suited for the end of the series and then they return...I'm just saying I don't want them to give all the characters a "happy ending" because of it being the end - that's not how life works. Both season 7 and 8 ended in a way the series could end - hope its something like that.
