PRE-FINALE: On the eve of May Sweeps, April 26, Jane Lynch returns as Diana to indirectly deliver “a huge break” in the Reid case, says showrunner Erica Messer. In the same episode, Joe Mantegna’s daughter Gia reprises her Season 3 guest star role, though a tight-lipped Messer files the why of that under “spoiler.” For the final two episodes of the season, titled “Green Light” and “Red Light,” the Case of the Week “is 100 percent centered around Reid,” all building to what Messer calls “a satisfying end to the journey that he has been on” since midseason.

SEASON FINALE (MAY 10): As Reid’s arc winds down, Messer says to expect “some surprises” — including one dropped on the BAU by no less than Derek Morgan (guest star Shemar Moore), who resurfaces for the episode as a civilian. Ultimately, the season ends with “a good, old-fashioned cliffhanger,” which the following quote might shed some light on: “Scratch will definitely still be playing a part, all the way to the last frames of the finale.” Adds Messer, “Just when we think we’ve got a handle on things, you get another curve ball.”

So, tonight Diana is going to deliver a "huge break" for Reid, how? Help/restore his memory? We also had that cliffhanger of Reid remembering a woman 'spraying' something in his face and telling him to go home (I think) - what about that?

If Gia's return is a spoiler then I have to assume she has to do with Mr. Scratch and/or Reid's story, but why and how? I'm sure what every reason it is will be silly and they just wanted to bring back Joe Mantegna's daughter. Which I don't have a problem with, just as long as the story makes sense and adds up - without that you have continuity issues and more of an unbelievable show, but we may be passed that assumption, so who cares if they keep screwing it up right?

Doesn't sound like we'll be getting a cliffhanger for Reid if it's “a satisfying end to the journey” - it also sounds like Reid will no longer be in prison. I've seen photos of "Green Light" where it looks like Reid is no longer in prison and he's in a suit -? But is he leaving the show? Reid has a huge fan base and the only thing I've seen MGG committed to, so I doubt he's leaving, but you never know.

"old fashioned cliffhanger" makes me think of what we got last year - a big bad is still out there lurking and watching - does this mean Mr. Scratch is still out there? We haven't really seen "him" personally threaten Reid or taunt the team with anything that has to do with Reid situation, so i think it's a bit 'weird' we assume he's behind Reid's situation, some things just aren't adding up.

Derek's back - cool, but will his return go into the S13 premiere?
