Ugh...Maeve is back? Gag me.
Why more Lindsey Vaughn?

No Mr. Scratch? How is Morgan suppose to help catch him if he's not even credited? Also, could Mr. Scratch not even be who is behind this? I guess that would be silly, but really - this whole storyline has been silly!

No judge, or that lawyer....
I think the previous episode might be Reid's trial and maybe he'll be released or sentenced......

Who is this old nemesis?!

I also found it odd that Mr. Scratch isn't in the episode, that must mean they're going to keep his story going into next season, guess they wanted to give people a reason to watch next season. Whatever happened to the other 12 serial killers who escaped last season? That was supposed to be the main story this year but they're barely been mentioned all season.

reply

Well, they also thought Hotchner was going to be around longer than he was - like the escaped killers, so I guess they "improvised" with what they had...and what they got.

Yeah, I think Mr. Scratch may go into the next season...

reply

It looks like you were right, Mr. Scratch is going into the next season. I cant say Red Light was a great episode, because then I'd be lying.

I'm disappointed there wasn't much Scratch in the rest of the season, even though many us believed he was responsible for what happened to Reid. Bringing back Lindsey to be Cat's lover was a little too much in the "Small world" that is criminal minds. If Joe wanted Gia back on the show, she could've played another character. But honestly that wasn't the worst part. It was hard to believe that all happened in 4 hours.

Cat getting pregnant in prison and saying it was Reid's. We know Reid lost time, but I don't think there was enough time for that, even IF it did happen. I wonder how much Beth was paid just to come back in a pretend flashback/memory.....just a disappointed to remind us. Cat Adams is a good psychopath, but the whole storyline felt last minute. Like the guy that played Peter Lewis/Scratch wasn't available or something. IMO the writers were answering fans, people wanted a Reid story, wanted more Reid/JJ friendship, wanted to see Morgan/Garcia again, wanted Cat to return. You know they had to switch things around after Hotch left and here it was. I'm sure they would deny it, but I don't think this was planned for the show.

The cliffhanger wasn't bad, but it's just a continuation story that we wont see until September 20th. It wasn't shocking because it was in a promo, 1 of the SUV's was barley hit. I couldn't remember who was in the other SUV but I think Prentiss was one.

reply

Now no one has to even watch the episode.

I don't mind spoilers but maybe you could warn everyone first? I've learned not to come her until I've seen the show so I'm good but maybe be a little more consideration for those who are behind an episode or so?

Other than that you made some good points!

reply

True, but coming on boards is always full of spoilers alone.

reply

Well yes, it's just nice to give newbies a heads up!

By the way, what is your take on this Derek thing? He seems to still live in the same city. If he is such a friend to everyone, why didn't they stay in touch when he left the job? I personally don't have work friends, all my friends work in different places and we get together. They could all be friends "off camera". Like so much in CM these days, it doesn't make sense.

reply

I sure hope the show improves next season, Emily coming back and Derek's guest appearance were the only good things about season 12.

reply

Well there was another good thing: they finally ENDED that asinine Reid in prison thing. That plot leaked like a broken sieve.

reply

I felt teased. They made me think Morgan was going to be in this episode a lot more and maybe even see Reid. It was more of a small cameo than a guest star role. I read an interview by the showrunner that it was there only shot to get him to appear, since he's starring in SWAT and we may not see Morgan back for awhile.

I don't think he still lives there, he said he had to catch a plane, which is confusing. Savannah seemed to work at hospital there...I guess she could've transferred but why? But they could be covering their tracks as to why we never hear the team talk about seeing Morgan around.

reply

Yes, felt phony to me too. I'm just glad it's over. I'm quite hopeful for season 13, even the show is slipping. I think Tara was in the back seat, Prentiss is the passenger, and is it Rossi or Luke driving that SUV? I know JJ was in the other car.
