Most of these articles say the same thing.

Showrunner Erica Messer also said during an interview that the return of a serial killer will intensify fans and a revelation will also be exposed from one of the characters' personal history and can affect his or her performance in the BAU.

I remember another post about a unsub returning and which character could it be?

Not Pablo Vargas nor Armando Salinas for sure, as both are dead.

I was gonna guess Vincent Perotta or Cat Adams, as those are the only ones as good and intimidating at what they do.

Cy Bradstone? No way.

Frank - dead
Billy Flynn - dead
Carl Buford - dead

With that being said, my gut tells me that it's one of the following unsubs that will return.

Vincent Perotta
Cat Adams
Jeremy Sayer - his return was vaguely alluded to in Season 6, when he said "I'm 13, I'll see her in 5 years anyways."
The Footpath Killer
Adrian Bale
Henry Grace
Shane Wyland
Izzy Rogers
Alex Zorgen

My gut definitely tells me it's one of the first 3. And by process of elimination, def won't be Jeffrey Collins (paralyzed guy in A Family Affair). I would love for them to bring back Eric Olson from Zoe's Reprise, but it would be mighty hard so, since the actor's deceased now. (if anyone's followed)

It was a while back, but I read a teasing comment from one of the showrunners that we never actually saw John Curtis die.

I heard about this. But Zoe's Reprise was more Rossi based, and if this is supposed to be Reid based...then I would say Adam/Amanda. But I wish it could be Nathan Harris From Sex, Birth, Detah...but Anton Yelchin is deceased, too.

Jackson Rathbone haven't posted anything on his twitter account about criminal minds lately (unless he's not allowed to) so, I don't think adam/amanda will be around.
My guess is Mr. Scratch

Reid had a bit of a connection with him as he knew how bad his school life was, granted he is probably on death row.

I'm starting to wonder if Reid's former drug use will be exposed, thus threatening his career. I'm also thinking that Scratch will frame him for something and that's why he is in jail. The team will investigate and eventually prove him innocent. Maybe Scratch thinks if he takes away the one who can match if not exceed him in intelligence that the team will be less likely to be able to take him down and end his killing spree? I don't know.

Obviously their will be another unsub returning besides Scratch, just read the article. Of course they could just be lying and it will be Mr Scratch all along.
