Reid in the big house storyline

I'm just baffled they thought "hey this would be a great storyline for Reid!"
What they were doing with his mom, I thought was good enough, I don't know why they thought this would be interesting.

I agree, love the show but stories have been getting too far-fetched in recent seasons.

Someone awaiting trial does not wait in hard-core prison. They wait in jail. A cop would be in protective custody. One prison guard cannot ignore a judge's order to put him in the jail, in protective custody. That guard would be reprimanded (at least) and Reid would be put where he is supposed to be. Even the prison warden would know the guard screwed up and he has the power to fix it. They are all in contempt of court for ignoring the judge. Everyone knows he's in the wrong place yet no one can fix it? This storyline is so unbelievably stupid!

So true, they're not even trying to be realistic anymore, don't know how much longer the show will last. Heard Morgan will guest star for the season finale but they said Reid's story will drag on for quite a bit longer. In real life Reid would have almost certainly been granted bail before the trial and even if he had gone to jail, he would have been in solitary.
