Jeepers creepers prequel? Loved this movie and wish it was...

I really liked this movie, it wasn't scary, nothing that scares you IN the moment, nothing that leaves you feeling creeped out after it's done, but the story and designs were brilliant. To be honest, from what I was seeing, I thought maybe this was a jeepers creepers prequel (I heard one was in the making).

So many things made this seem like a marriage of evil dead and jeepers creepers. I love the old 70's and 80's horror movies and it's been a while since I felt the same about another horror movie, if it didn't scare me at least I would be able to appreciate the story. This, plus the host (some korean movie), plus the first rec movie (not quarantine, rec's actors felt far more believable) are probably the best horror movies I've seen post 90's, plus maybe into the mouth of madness. Rec was the only movie that scared me of the ones I just mentioned, but at least I loved the stories of the others.

I sadly don't get scared of horror movies like I used to, but at least I can appreciate a good storyline, and this one had that.

EDIT: I saw someone in another thread was talking down about 'the thing', while I must say some stuff was kind of cool about the thing, I also thought the thing wasn't that great, I'm bringing this up because I want to mention that while into the mouth of madness is a john carpenter movie, it's possibly the only one that I thought was any good (didn't watch a lot of his stuff, but from what I DID see, this stood out).

It didn't really remind me of Jeepers Creepers franchise, mostly cuz that one had a flying demon that stole body parts and this one had a vampire necromancer that stole blood.

Also I liked the characters in this movie more than in the JC movies.
