Boredom

After watching this film last night, now i can understand why producers decided to re-film. I haven't watched harlin's version (i'm not gonna watch that version, i'm sure what kind of film it's gonna be: another harlin's crap), shrader's is one of the most boring films i have seen in my life. It's dull and annoying. Shrader is a great writer and a good director and Skaarsgard seems to be an interesting actor but...comparing this with The Exorcist (even with II and III parts) or another Shrader's works as a director (Affliction, Blue Collar, Cat People) is an insult. This film is anything but scary, it isn't disturbing at all. Sorry to all this movie's fans, but, in my opinion...What a failure!

IMHO any 'exorcist' film is supposed to be scary. The horror is the heart of the 'exorcist' history and it's the reason why those films are made and specially why people watch them. An exorcist film without horror is a non-sense indeed. Even accepting the Drama classification the film lacks in almost everything. The worst thing is that the story can be interesting but filmmakers don't achieve to make the film interesting at all.

if that's your arguement, take it up with the writers. Schrader mearly directed the film. he had no input with the writing process.
