Nazi with an American accent??
I suppose it's possible, but perhaps something with more of a German bent to it seem more authentic?

shareHe didn't have an American accent. But for the record, the same actor played Kessel in Renny Harlin's The Beginning, and he gave a much more clichéd "pure evil" slant to his dialect.

The actor who played the German officer was Dutch and had a Dutch accent and that's if the character was German!? Because they were quite a few Dutchmen in the DutchSS and quite a few of them were officers. Judging buy his name Lieutenent Kessel was probably German. that's another thing why didn't that Dutch actor play father Merrin who was Dutch and Stellan Skarsgaard play the SSofficer?
