the actual exorcism - contradictory with The Exorcist

If I recall in the original The Exorcist, they mention that Fr. Merrin had performed an exorcism that took weeks yet the exorcism in Domninion takes about 15 minutes. Regan Macneil's exorcism took longer than this one. Did anyone else notice this?

They actually specify months, but it could be that simply with the passage of time and the escalation of Merrin's fame and reputation, the legend of the exorcism has become exaggerated; that's almost 30 years of sharing stories, and stories getting better with age.

In EXORCIST II - THE HERETIC, which has flashbacks from the exorcisim prior to Regan´s, it seems that have taken a long time.

If by taking "a long time" you mean "The Heretic is impossibly long, boring, and excruciating to sit through," you're right! :)

Who cares? All these prequels and sequels to the brilliant original are just crap anyway.
