This movie is HORRIBLE!

Thank God I watched "The Beginning" first. Dominion was one of the worst movies I have ever seen! They never showed the Pazuzu statue, made you believe that the demon possesed the person through their wound (at least that what I thought when I saw it), and the David Blaine floating tricks (now you see me, now you don't) during the so called "exorcism" was laughable and ridiculous. What a total waste of time this movie was!

I agree. I found "Dominion" quite boring and tedious to watch. "The Beginning", though not a great film itself, at least had a bit of excitement and decent enough effects compared to "Dominion".

Both movies though were major letdowns.

I think for fans of part 1 should be happy to see both versions although I prefer the beginning (maybe because I seen it in the movies) than the other one. The ending to the dominion was horrible.

I mean how can you like the church at Dominion? It looked like some sort of a sultan's palace from Aladin or something, everything was so bright, jewels everywhere, didn't really give the impression of an abandoned place you'd be afraid to go to. And don't even start talking about CheChe or whatever his name was...I never laughed so hard at a horror movie like that time when he started floating around and playing jedi mind tricks on Merrin. And what was up with the sky during the battle, it started glowing pink and orange or what?:S
Scared the *beep* outta me...yeah riiight!

Yeah right, and I thought this was supposed to be a scary movie at some degree at the least. Maybe I'm exagerating but I seriously laughed seeing this version after watching the Beginning. exmk are you blind and deaf?Did we even watch the same movie?

reply

Lol. Some people just don't get it. No wonder so many people dont go to church, its because their churches are freaking haunted castles! I personaly didn't find this movie that bad. I think it was a good prequel to the original.

The thing with the sky Is Called the Northern Lights, an Aurora, it dosn't really appear in that part of the world, but it's supposed to be a Physical Manifestation of the supernatural events taking place, I thought it was crap untill I looked it up, and found some pictures of the real thing, Looks very accurate, and I prefer it to the Dust Storm in Exorcist the Beginning, That Movie Had almost every Horror Movie Cleche I can think of, At least DOMINION went in a somewhat fresh direction, but it's still an unfinished Film, If the Movie had Gotten Standerd treatment and had A full Post Production, then it would look a hell of alot Better, The Studio is to blame for it looking cheesy, they had already remade the Movie, then thayt remake was garbage, so they slaped Dominion onto dvd, the Director was given so Little to work with for finishing it, that His wife did the Voice of the Demon.

Errr... This is pretty much the dumbest thing I have read in years...

> It looked like some sort of a sultan's palace from Aladin or something,

Errr... It's a Byzantine-style architecture...as it is supposed to look in the story of the film, supposedly build in an era in which the Greek Orthodox style was the only church architecture style in Christianity...

> everything was so bright, jewels everywhere,

Errr... Because it's dedicated to Saint Michael the angel of lights, the luminous angel that casts away the darkness of evil...

> didn't really give the impression of an abandoned place you'd be afraid to go to.

Errrr.... As clearly explained in the film, it looks brand new since it was buried right after it was made...

I agree with you. Dominion was quite an intelligently done movie and not for your average "Cursed" or "Jason X" type of fan.

Considering how tight the budget was and the talent assembled, i quite respect respect "Dominion". It's too low key for its' own good and feels very old fashioned by todays standard but it's a hellofalot better than the bombastic crap Geena Davis' ex churned out. Probably no one will be really happy unless they see a sequel which features a girl mutilating and blaspheeming like th original and studios just aren't willing to make a film that graphically, overtly exploitive anymore. "Dominion" is a very tasteful and respectful addition to the series.

"For once, why the hell would the Pazuzu statue from the original be in Africa? It's in Iraq. We DO see the Pazuzu statue, only it's an *African version*. Exorcist: The $hitinning was full of stupid refrences to the original that made completely no sense. When I was watching ETB I thought I was watcing The Evil Dead 4... "

What a load of rubbish. Then explain to me why in the original Exorist movie the little head of Pazauzu is found in Iraq my Merrin, and then later found at the bottom of the infamous steps by Regans house in Georgetown USA by the cop Kinderman ?

Its no different to what happens in Exorcist the Begining, it simply just moved on its own where the evil / Pazuzu moved to. Dominion sucked IMO, it lacked everything the original Exorcist movie had. The begining is the closest sequel / prequel to the orginal Exorcist movie. They both had the horror factor, the gore, and the mind scaring factor. Dominion had the lets send the audience to sleep factor. Dominion should never of been made simple as.

Meaning you didn't understand at all the original Frankenheimer film (which by the way is not that good), Amen...
