Color blindness

So Dwayne never realized he was color blind until he was 15? I find that hard to believe. That's something they would have discovered when he was a little kid. You learn colors in like pre-school or even younger.

I mean, I know there are varying degrees of color blindness, but still.

Yes, there are varying degrees of color blindness, but that's the point. Typically, even a person who's color blind can still see colors, the just have difficulty with particular shades. The whole "seeing only shades of gray" isn't really common, although it can happen. I didn't discover I was color blind until I was 18, and like Dwayne, took a test on it. It seems I have trouble with certain shades of green.

They didn't discover my hearing problems and difficulties I have hearing speech when I was at school - it meant I used to not listen in lessons then tried to work it out later. It made me good at reading and following written stuff, but not good at communicating via speech.

also a colleague got fully trained to be a commercial pilot then turned out to be colour blind - so don't be too quick to pick plot-holes.

all that has to happen is no one follows up a test failure, that's how useless people often are!
