This movie is just so energy draining, unhappy, lethargic and boring peace of crap.. I love movies, i love god drama, I pretty much like every genre, but this is just suicidal movie with bunch of good actors which I love to watch but in this movie, these characters make me vomit....

I consider myself very forgiving, unbiased, and open-minded, and I kind of like any movie that's over a 6.5 and has a solid plot and good acting, and...I was SO disappointed in this movie. It was like The Emperor's New Clothes - everyone else is pretending to see it, but....it ain't there. Long, drawn out sequences, super average acting and script. Man, I really can't EVEN believe all of the 9's and 10's this film scored. I can kinda see what was being portrayed, and I get the story line, etc., and the little girl was cute.. So, we're all different, and all is good.

Obviously you're as forgiving, unbiased, and open-minded as you think you are...and you don't appreciate anything with a solid plot and good acting. This movie has all of that, and more. It's funny, realistic, down to earth, sweet, and everyone in this film was fantastic in a subdued way that makes a film great. Too bad you missed its point. Watch it again and pay more attention...you might just enjoy it, and "get" it.

Well, true story, I suffer from clinical depression and have a tendency for periods of catatonic-esque suicidal ideation.
This film routinely makes me want to fight again.
So, I really, truly disagree it's lethargic or particularly sad - the whole point is that life is painful, but you don't just give up, you change tack. And live life until it blows your heart out, have adventure.
That's the message I got any way.

We all have different tastes in movies. I enjoyed the movie and have watched it many times. I think it is one of the best ensemble casts.

Personally, I grew up in a dysfunctional but very stable family. Hard to relate to this bunch, but that's the point.
Life is weird, families are complicated, we don't get to choose who our parents and siblings are, but we have to deal with it.
This movie is a Dark Comedy, a genre of it's own. If you want predictable, go to Disney.
I liked Sunshine Cleaning more, but LMS gets more notice. And LMS gets a thumbs up from me.
I only watched it once and it was a while ago, but I remember feeling let down by it. I don't think I hated it.
