Am I the only one who disliked this lethargic sad movie...???!!

This movie is just so energy draining, unhappy, lethargic and boring peace of crap.. I love movies, i love god drama, I pretty much like every genre, but this is just suicidal movie with bunch of good actors which I love to watch but in this movie, these characters make me vomit....

reply

Yes, you're the only one.

reply

No he isn't. I disliked it too. I found the story and the acting kind of poor. It's not even that funny. This seems to be one of those cases were many people have convinced themselves that a film is good because it is expected.

TWO PEOPLE IN SEVEN YEARS.

Actually there are at least 6 people in this topic who have posted that they didn't like it. And I am pretty sure that a topic on moviechat.org doesn't have the status of a referendum. Few people have even seen this film to be able to give their opinion on it.

THAT IS BULLSHIT...JUST SAYIN'.

reply

Yes, you're the only one.

Great movie, very well written characters, top notch actors, and this film is neither lethargic nor suicidal. It's a comedy/drama which I find funny from beginning to end.

reply

Honestly, I think you probably missed the entire point of the film. Either you weren't paying attention or you can't grasp characters with rough edges.

Films needn't be positive and uplifting to be important and relevant.

reply

I laughed a lot during this movie. I have seen it three times. I guess you didn't "get it" because English is not your first language.

reply

That's not a valid excuse. English is not my first language too and I absolutely love this movie, especially for that cute Abigail Breslin performance.

reply

Unfortunately for you, you are the only one. This had all the great aspects a movie needs

reply

I am ashamed I like the movie. I am against child beauty pageants.

reply

I think you got the point, then. I don't think there is any way to construe this movie as pro-child beauty pageant.

reply

No, you're not the only one. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it as much as most.

And don't listen to the condescending asswipes on here that are just parroting the critics' reviews.

reply

Maybe not, but you are the only one who is proud of missing the point

reply

i liked its quirky-ness. the car, the characters, Grandpa's spirit.
it DID win two oscars.

i wish it had a stronger ending. a little weak, after all that buildup.

reply

Well I'm sure your not the ONLY one... This world is full of people ?ha but I think we like movies /songs/ even people we can somehow relate to. My family is pretty dysfunctional. Not so much the past 20 years or so... But going up was pretty crazy. I could see my own son having a breakdown like Dwayne did and yelling about how embarrassing /weird his family was.
But much like this family,
there's not one of us who wouldn't
drop everything to help another
when needed. My mom has a rough
past w me and my sibilings. ... But
when real trouble hits she's like
the mob boss we all call and she
will come through for us. So thats why I personally enjoy it. They're messed up people but would never purposely hurt eachother and watch out if anyone else tries to, either ( hence them all dancing in stage at the end).
