Ok not exactly Beach 2 but what's not to love about this movie?*spoilers
The only thing I had a problem with in this movie is he just got out of high school and was about to get married. That is very unlikely. The actor is 28 after all. I mean it looked like he was partying at a fraternity house that time. It would have been much more likely he was just finishing up college and like some people might have already found the one he wanted to marry and had grad school lined up. His not knowing any Spanish is a little silly.
But ok so he get's screwed, as is so often. The first reaction one has is to get out of dodge, providing you have the money, which he does. Then he recklessly buys a ticket to no where while he is drunk having prepared zero for it. Winds up in the back of beyond yet meets these two sirens that help him get over his troubles very quickly. Then a few weeks later (should have been 9 months - what happened during all that time?!) he stumbles upon Nathan Drake! And Nathan Drake wants him to work for him! What's better is Nathan Drake has brother Che and his band of merry thieves working for him too! At least they seem to be - what are they up to, are they smuggling? Why does that girl of his have a constant grin - oh she must have done this before. The best of all a budding Laura Croft is also on the scene and they go further. This would only have been better if he went with Laura and they headed off to Asia together. I don't give this movie a 10 but it's a good modern day, slightly more realistic, Indiana Jones. We need more setting, more background of the characters and character development and more thorough playout of the story.
I think all the people that didn't like this movie are boring curmudgeons that don't do anything with their lives. I just can't believe I didn't hear of it sooner. I think there is a conspiracy in that. I don't think the media or the powers that be want Americans to know there is a better life out there.
