How can he get drunk?

You get drunk because your liver gets overloaded from booze. I don't see how an invincible guy could get trashed.

I think that alcohol is Hancock's kryptonite.

I will blow that ugly right off your face!

The liver breaks down alcohol when alcohol is broken down it effects pretty much everything in your body. This is the same with food and drink. If alcohol didn't get hancock drunk then he wouldn't need to eat or drink nor would his body have been able to develop into what it is.

Basically from the film Hancock can get effected by inside effects of his body it is just his outer shell that is invincible and to a limit. Hancock states when watching footage of him cooling his ass off after an apartment fire that he did it because his ass was hot meaning he can still experience heat and coldness.

I.E Hancock is not completely invincible, for example a nuclear explosion would probably kill him

So any enemy could poison him?

You complain about spoilers. I complain that you came here without watching the movie first.

I was waiting for that to happen in prison. Surely the feds would jump at the chance to control such a being.

If that's the case then he should have died from smoke inhalation. Since he wasn't affected at all by smoke inhalation, it follows that he wouldn't be affected by any other type of poison, such as alcohol. As for food and water (and oxygen), he inherently doesn't need them, because he can regenerate (as established when he told the story about his cracked skull healing in a hour as he got his powers back 80 years prior), so any cellular damage done by the lack of those things would be repaired immediately. However, we see in the movie many times that he's invulnerable when he has his powers, so no damage would be done in the first place, thus no need to regenerate.

You get drunk because your liver gets overloaded from booze? Are you serious?

Since when is your liver a major organ involved in sensory perception and motor neuron function?

Please, all it takes is a few seconds to Google "alcohol intoxication", and a few minutes of reading to understand how wrong your original statement is. Please do so in the future.

Since you failed on this attempt, here's a freebie:

LISTEN! ... Do you smell something?

No you don't.

Doesn't any of you realize that if you start poking at these things, there is no movie? As with Superman, none of what happens can hold up to scutiny if you're trying to make sense of it, and it's a given that if you keep asking "yeah but how..." after each new attempt at answering, you wind up with a great big "because it's made-up!"

If you're gonna ask things like that, why not start with "how does he fly" -- to pick one of a million possible questions about this movie. It's entertainment, it's fiction and at one point you simply have to let it be just that.

The god of wine could get drunk...

Doubt it.

Did he become half or mostly human then? If he was,it would explain how he could get drunk.

reply

I just thought of this.Maybe he recently came to Earth and just got a liver.Hancock is not used to having a liver. That's how or very possibly how he can get drunk.

reply

Are you being serious? It is clearly stated in the movie he is THOUSANDS of years old.
