I remember really liking this movie when I saw it a long time ago but I'd have to watch it again to say how much I really liked it.

I threw the DVD in the bin after i finished watching.i don't keep weak movies in my possession.oh well...
I liked it a lot, so much so that I purchased the DVD. The strengths of the movie definitely outweigh the few weaknesses.
When you watch the movie, you can see moments when they were going to make one of the crew members the main antagonist. I'm thinking the mission psychologist was likely the writer's first choice, as he was a strange character. Yet for whatever reason, they decided to make the antagonist the deranged captain of the first Icarus mission. A lot of critics didn't like this but I did. It added to the tension and sense of urgency as the story reached it's climax.
It's Danny Boyle's best, in my humble opinion. This and "28 Days Later" are his masterpieces. I prefer "Sunshine" though.
