Oxygen(Spoliers)

Not having enough oxygen to complete the mission for the number of crew members was a problem. They figured that if they kill of certain crew members they would have enough to complete the mission but not necessarily have enough to return home. Was putting crew members in stasis not an option?...I mean the end result would be the same: they would all end up dead anyway but at least they could retain their humanity.

The crew never mention having any kind of stasis or hibernation technology, it's likely such thing don't (yet) exist in this film's universe. This isn't Interstellar.

reply

Even if they had stasis, wouldn't they still need oxygen? I'm not being facetious, I don't really understand how stasis is meant to work (-apart from knocking people out for long journeys in space! )

reply

Yes they would still need oxygen for stasis, being they still need to breathe to stay alive.

reply

Yes, but not as much if they were up and active.
