Was this an original score? Seen the movie about 2/3 weeks ago and still to this day I think about it. Utterly magnificent. Will be watching it again asap

Yes, it was. Due to legal problems the soundtrack was never released in physical format, which is a shame for those like myself who like to collect original items.

I bet you're talking about Sunshine Adagio in D Minor. I heard it on the X-Men trailer on opening night of Godzilla and was overcome with emotion before I could even place the song. It's on iTunes, and I think wiki says if you subscribe to the composer's newsletter, you get it for free as an mp3.
