Troy Garity (Harvey) is IMO the best character/actor in the ensemble

This is going to sound like a bandhanded compliment because Mr. Garity is the least capable out of the cast. His looks are straight out of a Godfather Xbox game as a henchman. Everyone else has a strong square jawed or emotional core role to play but Harvey is set up to be unlikable. There is not one likable moment for Harvey in the entire film and Garity brings his insecurities, sheepishness and an almost sniveling demeanor to life in a very impressive way.

I think John Cazale as Fredo when I watch Garity in what now must be the 50th time seeing Sunshine. He took the least likable character and really nailed the role. Again, he is not a better actor than the others (although the suicidal Chinese guy was annoyingly bad), but he brings such authenticity and individuality to the team that he should be commended.

In a movie surrounded by beautiful deaths (really all of them are magnificent) Harvey's was the coolest (next to Mace).

Well done.

Yeah, at -270 degrees Celsius, his death was the coolest, no question about that.
