Was anyone else blown away by this movie?

I have to admit that I hadn't even heard of this film until a few weeks ago. I was expecting a boring theoretical sci-fi movie. I was wrong. This was as much of a thriller as any movie I've ever seen.
In fact, I watched again upon finishing it the first time. I've only done that to a few movies.

Blown away. Yes. I was haunted by this movie when I first saw it. Thought of little else for days. Watched it over a dozen times since last year.

I found this movie visual stunning and the soundtrack was excellent. It is one of my favorite sci-fi films.

Very cool movie, I liked it a lot. It felt very realistic for a sci-fi film, and most of that can be traced to the acting and special effects, which were top notch. I especially liked the technical problems the crew eventually face and the way they dealt with them. The characters felt human, and the reactions to difficult and often catastrophic decisions to be made were spot on.

I did, however, have a slight problem with the god crazed, sabotaging captain from Icarus 1. It seemed like they didn't handle it right, like they couldn't come up with a way to complete the movie without a clear cut villain to oppose the mission. Up to that point, I thought they did an amazing job without one. Why can't the real difficulties of space travel be the only antagonist for once?

Overall, though, this character only slightly harmed a really interesting flick to watch.

This movie would have blown mind mind by how good it was, but the end was a letdown. This movie was a big suprise when i first heard of it and i was very exited of it after the reviews. And i say the movie was good, one of the best in a while that i had watched.

But what i think, it went lilbit too far with what happened in the end. Anyway this movie deserves a high rating anyway. Great acting, great athmosphere, music and directing goes far beond of what flaws it has.

Totally. One of the best films I have ever seen. We need more Sunshine-s in our lives.

I wish they made more movies like this. It's stunning both visually and stylistically, has fantastic acting and a haunting soundtrack laid against a compelling story. I also love looking a nasa photos of the sun and theories about time and space to boot.

Please, go...Stop smiling, it's not a joke. Please leave...The party's over. Get out.

I can absolutely see why people would be turned off by what happens 2/3 of the way into the movie. I can also easily see how there's simply too much to get past in regards to the suspension of disbelief. These criticisms are legitimate. With that said, I was also blown away, and as a fan of "slashers" as well as religious extremism, I ended up giving the movie a 10. Yes, it had some flaws, but nonetheless I still ended up violently jizzing my pants.

Danny Boyle is a gentleman.

I enjoyed it as I do any scifi, but I i wish they put more time into getting the science and the setting right and I also wish it didn't end up being a slasher in space.

I think it's good too - stunning visuals. Loved the part where the bomb is falling into the sun.

Underrated.
