Very cool movie, I liked it a lot. It felt very realistic for a sci-fi film, and most of that can be traced to the acting and special effects, which were top notch. I especially liked the technical problems the crew eventually face and the way they dealt with them. The characters felt human, and the reactions to difficult and often catastrophic decisions to be made were spot on.
I did, however, have a slight problem with the god crazed, sabotaging captain from Icarus 1. It seemed like they didn't handle it right, like they couldn't come up with a way to complete the movie without a clear cut villain to oppose the mission. Up to that point, I thought they did an amazing job without one. Why can't the real difficulties of space travel be the only antagonist for once?
Overall, though, this character only slightly harmed a really interesting flick to watch.
