Variety has confirmed that filming has started.

"Matthew Modine and Lara Flynn Boyle have begun lensing '60s romantic comedy "A West Texas Children's Story," written and directed by Brad Isaacs. Pic, also starring AnnaSophia Robb and Cayden Boyd, is lensing in Albuquerque, N.M. Producers are Morna Ciraki and Arturo Muyshondt; exec producers are Polly Platt, Ryan Howe, Mark Davis and Thom Mount."
