Yes, at the end Kitty repented for her infidelity. And Walter seemed to forget as he loved her. Yet, I don't think Walter would have kept the relationship with Kitty for too long had he lived. Because that infidelity would always have haunted him. A man of his character cannot take it for too long no matter how much he loves.

She was ready to give him more respect than in her selfish immature past, and he would bask in her admiration of him.
