wahlberg?

I liked this movie and I like Mark but was he the best choice? Any ideas of who would have been better.

reply

That's a tough one..hard to see anyone else in the role...

"it was a cool name, until that no talent ass clown won a grammy"

I think that Chris Evans would have been a good choice because he's a bit taller than Wahlberg and Vince Papale in real life is 6'2 and Chris Evans is 6' whereas wahlberg is only 5'8 at best, and Evans is a great athlete like Wahlberg. All Evans would have to do is grow his hair out a little. Evans has a good screen presence. The problem with Evans is he is not a big star like Wahlberg and is not yet a stand-alone star that can carry a movie on name alone.

I think it should have been Tony Danza. he looks like the real vince.

Don't say it! Don't you *beep* say you're too good for me. I am, but don't say it

reply

c'mon, tony danza is in his fifties. dont know wh chris evans is. walberg was very good, but he is small. its hard to think of somebody.

reply

Haha, i was obviously joking about Tony.

aahh...ok, my bad.

reply

Danza already did it... The Garbage-Picking Field Goal-Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon... it was a made-for-TV movie on ABC in the late 90s...

reply

Yeah, when you look at the real Papale it makes you wonder why they got Mark Wahlberg. He's clearly too small. He's muscular in the movie, but too short. The real Papale was tall. Over 6 foot I believe. Not that I didn't like him in the role though.

reply

Yeah---and Tony Danza is 61.
