Nobody smokes in this film even though its set in the mid-70's!

In all of the scenes set inside of the bar not one patron lights
up a cigarette despite the storyline being set in 1976. Just
not believable though here is why. The movie was released by a
Disney owned studio and to my understanding several years ago
Disney executives decided to ban all smoking from their films
even if the plot was based on a true story. My take is that
it is their way of trying to remain family friendly though
not seeing anybody smoke in this movie set in the 70's is
just really ridiculous!

My view is "Good job Disney"! I didn't notice it until you mentioned it and quite honestly it would have not improved the story at all if characters had smoked. If anything it would have annoyed me, because it is a dirty habit.

Very well said and imho the execs at Disney are trying to be both
"family and christian friendly." I'm a catholic and gave up
smoking cigarettes fourteen years ago though do smoke cigars.
