The cast seemed so good. WHY?!?

How did Freeman get attached to this? Didn't he read the script first?

Seems like some college kid's first shot at a screenplay. Horrible dialogue and full of obvious plot holes. "I second that emotion?" Please. I loved the helicopter pilot, though. When my partner is killed in front of me, the first thing I do is get out to investigate. Man, and that's just for starters.

Were we supposed to sympathize with the cops, who the FBI treated as bumbling? They WERE bumbling!

I totally agree with you! The cast did "seem" good!! John Cusack!! Morgan Freeman!!! How in the h--- did they ever rope these guys into doing this poor excuse of a film!!!!!! Poor direction...Poor writing.... insanely stupid dialog and no plot motivation ....it was soooo terrible it was absolutely comedic throughout...I can't believe this Beresford guy directed Driving Miss Daisy too.????..Gosh Cusack and Freeman must have made a bundle on it...that's the only excuse I can figure about WHY they'd want anything to do with "the Contract"..!
The whole thing was sophomoric!
