This movie makes Washington look really bad

Throughout this movie there are constant not-so-subtle moments in which Washington state is portrayed as backwater and full of ignorant hicks who serve terrible coffee and are unfamiliar with foods like croissants. My favorite quote from this film: "[when you leave the East Coast] the coffee is lousy and the food is all sugar." As if Washington is not famous for its coffee (ever heard of Starbucks?) or so called "granola-munchers" that don't eat sugar.

I felt the same way, being a Seattle resident.

Seattle is one of the most liberal and progressive cities in the world, and the state itself has basically every land feature anyone could ever wish for. ANYBODY could live here and find their place.

First Blood was the same way. We gotta get more movies taking place in Seattle, and not the forest! Its a perfect city!

The movie makes Washington, D.C. look pretty bad, too. The president of the United States using a professional assassin squad? For a domestic hit? To kill a rich guy who has strong opinions on issues? And the FBI is aware of all this? And the assassins have permission to kill police, rangers, and innocent civilians?

This movie was clearly intended to play outside of the U.S. No matter how cynical I get, I can't keep up.

I disagree, The movie actually made me laugh at how the cops weren't actually that dumb, but were treated that way because of where they lived. They were the ones who helped ray, they did more than the FBI did at helping to end the situation.

Trapdoorstudios is correct. I don't believe there's a state in the Union that doesn't have rural areas where the residents are looked down on as hicks by the big city "sophisticates." This includes states on the East coast.

and the captain started messing with the fbi guys a little by spilling the coffee and he made a remark about being a small town around that time he was getting sick of their attitude.
