One reason why this movie may not be round

Real quick. I was on the set for about 60-80% of the new mexico portion of the filming, before they went to Nogales to shoot. Anyhow one major reason this film maybe having trouble is..........

You can't shoot a JLO movie on a 6 -10 week schedule ! Cant happen! She is in hair and make up for 8 hours a day leaving No time to shoot a tite schedule so the comprimising starts on about day 2.

No doubt a important story and maybe a good script but JLO just requires to much for a 12 million dollar movie. The production was shaky from the get go so it's no suprise to me this film hasnt surfaced yet.

Don't judge before you see the movie you could be surprised.

There are plenty of other very talented Mexican actresses who could have done it. I don't know why they chose J.Lo.

reply

Because they're ugly and the ones that are half goog looking are singing crappy rancheras. Plus they're not nearly as recognized as Jennifer. There u have it F A G

Its not that she's from PR or from mexico. That's not the point.
The problem here is that hollywood has racist standards of beauty.
They can only tollerate so much of an indigenous feature.

Can't have wide noses, gotta look anglo.
You can't have dark hair, therefore, J-lo put in the streaks.

Jlo happens to be a friend of Nava, when you are making a film, you look for top celbrities who are already famous to generate this sort of media synergy.

He knew that using token actresses and making a movie out of something that already has become a token topic almost, is going to generate some media buzz.

Everybody and their grandmother has already made a film about Cd. Juarez.

Here are just a few.

The Virgin of Juarez (2005) Directed by Kevin James Dobson & Starring Minnnie Driver (yawn)

Missing Woman by Lourdes Portillo (critically acclaimed, a movie made by a mexican american woman about mexican american women)

Muertas by Ryan Piers Williams
Stages of Fear by Cesar Alejandro
On the Edge by Steev Hise
Juarez Cas: The crime of the century by Kent Patterson.

those are just the ones in english.
there are tons made in spanish.
even some soft porn ones.

It is unfortunate that most media makers just want to make money.
They don't do it to help out the victims.
Its just about money and fame for some.

Hey Pendejo that's a total LIE she was never in Hair and Make Up for more than
1 1/2hr and that included Wardrobe. The Production was shoot was Bad because Greg is not a good Director.

reply

Yeah well you weren't there then. She was never in H/mu/war for less than an hour and a half. But I will agree that the director wasn't very good, as well as alot of the other higher ups. There were several days that JLO came out about an hour before lunch so that means 5 hours jerk!

I heard about Lopez's diva shaningians, too. Like she didn't know that doing an indie project means making sacrifices because of the budget for the sake of the project. But if he's such a bad director, then why has he been nominated for the Golden Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival?
