Manowa/St. Preux

Great stoppage. That ref was right on it to save OSP. Minowa called the KO right before he got it. That was cool.

Remember, use the magic twig wisely

The signs were there, OSP looked defeated and weak by body blows. Manuwa is interesting fighter...he gets annihilated by Johnson and Gustafsson. I don't know his place in LH or he can get any better.

OSP might be getting cut sooner or later.

ya I was looking at the LHW rankings the other day and man the LHW Division isn't looking good past the top 4...

Jones
DC
Rumble
Gus

are Elite and Incredible...

Glover and Bader will stick around

but past that its gets sloppy...

Shogun is way past his prime

Rashad isn't an Elite LHW anymore, dropped to MW, I dont think he'll bee Great at MW anymore.

OPS, IMO Will never be A Top 5 guy on The level as Jones,DC Rumble or Gus

Manuwa is interesting, But I'm not sure I even see him being able to beat fighters like Glover or Bader...

Unfortunately Theres just 4 extremely great fighters in LHW right now, that have all fought each...

and it looks like were going to be getting rematches between those fighters for the foreseeable future...

Jones Vs DC II

Jones Vs Gus II

DC Vs Rumble II

DC Vs Jones II

DC Vs Gus II

If Rumble beats DC, and Jones isn't illegible to come back yet, The UFC would probably do Rumble Vs Gus II

The only LHW fight that has a chance of happening in the next few years that Wont be a rematch is Jones Vs Rumble(and thats Highly unlikely IMO because I think DC is going to beat Rumble again at 206)...

I dont see anyone but DC,Jones,Rumble and Gus fighting in a LHW championship fight for at least a few years..

at this point, The UFC needs Jones back, Jones has 3 fights at LHW that are the most interesting...

Jones Vs DC II is the best rematch they can put on ...with DC being The true champ and Jones being the Interim champ, that fight and rematch makes the most sense...

If Jones Wins, Then they do Jones Vs Rumble, which would be a Big fight...If Jones won that fight, Jones himself has said He would want to rematch Gus again before leaving the LHW Division...

Jones Vs Gus II would sell considering how close and fantastic their first fights was.

those 3 fights are the biggest and best fights the UFC can make in the LHW division, and they need Jones back to do them...

There will be a new face that UFC will force into that Top 5. Because a merry go round of 4 guys will not bring in money at the gate. Manuwa might be that face they force into the Top 5. They will squeeze someone in as a contender by having them decision Gustafsson.

Honestly, Gus is not in their league either.

See, this guy be thinking like the UFC brass.

"Hi, excuse me. Can you use your karate to open up this pickle jar?"

reply

If you say so...

UFC under new management anyways. You mean like the old brass?

that's a funny way to appreciate a complement.
Anyway does it matter? Old, new. The bottom line is manipulating the rankings to build the bottom line up with $$.

The LHW division used to be deeper, but, for some reason, it has not been given the usual amount of new blood (I would also say the the HW division is aging).

For year the heavier classes were the "top" dogs and were the "best", but I feel that is changing. Manowa was dismantled by Gus and Johnson and is not a young fighter in years...he started too late. The fact that we all buy into the hype of him being the "Next Jon Jones" or The new Anderson Silva" is crap. We hear it about the fighters over and over..."ought test to date..." blah bah blah.

Go back and look at many fighters' records...full of names most people have never heard of. It is only going to get worse...hell we have the 145 pound division maybe having 3 champs?

LOL my apologies, UFC brass seems to be out of whack on certain aspects of the fight game. LHW Division is just a vicious cycle right now, I don't know. Its just bleak looking at the division.

You also have guys like Weidman, Rockhold, Romero(even though he's older than most of the 205ers)that stayed at middleweight instead of moving up like some projected. Top shelf talent is showing up, but going to LHW anymore, Phil Davis and a few others being in Bellator hurts the division as whole with so few guys being all over the place.
