the last supper allegory

alright, here's what it means. said is the one getting crucified, anyone who pushes him towards the bombing is a judas.

he's not a saviour, no. he's the one betrayed, by his own people

I didn't study the attitude of the majority of palestinians to death bombers, but it occured to me once that some of them may really view these people as apostles who bring "good news" to the world. you may think they preach that palestinians are in despair, indeed, and that's why they resort to self-destruction. this is their "apostolic message", which of course has nothing to do with Christianity.

That is exactly what I felt, and three viewings of the film have not changed that impression.

His mother had the appearance of purity and holiness.

Jesus challenged not only the Pharisees, but the commands of G-d, who is considered his father, and Said constantly struggled with his feelings towards his father, and ultimately attacked his father's choices.

The Mary Magdalene was the foreignized exoticized Suha, treated as an exotic foreigner for basically being educated and literate.

Khaled is the unintentional Judas, who brought Said back to the suicide attack plotters, whom send Said right back into his death [but we do not know if Said lives or dies, just as we do not know if Jesus really lived beyond his death], and the plotters are Romanesque because they distorted the Koran to persuade Said and Khaled to carry out the mission [72 virgins], which means the plotters are "paganistic" and not truly religious, and the plotters are Romanesque because they brutally executed collaborators [Roman executions, Roman pogroms against Jews] and exploited/terrorized Palestinians [Romans terrorizing Jews, Palestinians with power exploiting Palestinians without power], and pushed Palestinians into a war that decimates them [Romans pushing Jews to war which decimated them, remember Masada, Jews committing suicide rather than being captured by Romans...]

And Said is Jesus-like, striving to eradicate the Israeli occupation to free the Palestinians, which is equivalent to Jesus trying to eradicate the Pharisees' control of Judaism and Jewish society in order to free Judaism and Jewish society from corruption.

Excellent observation.

I don't think Khaled was Judas. I think Judas was whoever informed the Israeli police to stand guard by the border when they were about to enter for the mission the first time. Perhaps the man who collected Said from his home.
