I was thinking even if he was caught after the Paul Stine murder unless he confessed to being Zodiac they probably wouldn't have linked that murder to the Zodiac, the only reason they did was because of the letter with Stine's shirt. Do you think he would have confessed if caught that night and if not do you think they would have still figured out he was the Zodiac eventually?
shareProbably not at first. It depends. But if Zodiac was in prison for a different crime which is why he stopped writing (or killing) he never confessed to anyone.
Part of the fun in his eyes is for people to keep guessing and wondering. Why spoil the game?
So who knows. Maybe a lesser known killing could have happened in California and the killer got caught and went to prison but never once mentioned Zodiac. Maybe something like this could get the amateur sleuths to start investigating like someone did with the San Francisco Businessman.
