Steve McQueen 'cameo'

Let me say this first, I think it is an Steve McQueen 'cameo'.

Later on in the movie when David Toschi has a new partner in the late 1970s, there is a scene when Toschi gets a phone call that a new Zodiac letter has arrived. In this scene you can see his new partner, who looks, in my opinion, like Steve McQueen. Specially during the movie Bullit (1968).

This matches with the fact "Steve McQueen copied Toschi's distinctive style of quick-draw shoulder-holster by wearing his gun upside down for the 1968 movie Bullitt. McQueen also modeled much of his Bullitt character on Toschi".

I had to google Steve McQueen Bullit. There is a resemblance but there is nobody in the credits on imdb with Toschi's partner or even uncredited like say the officers who may have seen Zodiac. And for the record their Uncredited is so wrong as the darker officer resembles Eric Zelms while the lighter hair and skin one resembles Donald Foukes more.

So Toschi's partner was either an extra or a stunt driver since he needed to do that turn. I work in the film industry and to do a drive like that could be considered Special Skills. But I'm more inclined to say stunt because he made that turn while other cars were coming so close.

Yes it was a pretty 'skilled' turn with those other incoming cars. Anyhow, I'm pretty sure that David Fincher or any other person from the Zodiac production used this man as a Steve McQueen cameo.

Like I said in my thread message, everything matches.
-He looks like McQueen
-Driving skills, which McQueen also had in the movie Bullitt (1968)
-Steve McQueen copied Toschi's distinctive style of quick-draw shoulder-holster by wearing his gun upside down for the 1968 movie Bullitt. McQueen also modeled much of his Bullitt character on Toschi.

I'm pretty sure this is an cameo, a typical Fincher 'thing', because he has many cameo's in his other movies. Anyway, I really like the idea.

I wouldn't call it a cameo. Maybe a movie trivia. But this movie specifically is known to have well known names down to the smallest roles. It says so on wikipedia. Most movies has 2-3 well known actors while the rest are unknown.
