I thought this was the most obvious twist in any film I've ever seen.
It was so so so obvious that she wasn't dead for a variety of reasons that I can't be bothered going into now...
I still liked the film well enough though...
I don't think it was really supposed to be a twist. I think it was just the only 'illusion' that Eisenheim chose to share the workings of with the chief inspector (and us).
The 'twist' in The Prestiege was a bit more deserving of the title, although I think most people got there ahead of the punch and at least one person I know spotted it immediatly, literally 10mins in and spent the rest of the film fidgeting because she was bored.
