was that to imply he was getting the mercury treatment for VD???

I thought it was blood transfusions for treatment of hemophilia, a common disorder among European royalty.

But, VD makes for a better affliction for him!

Injectable cocaine, maybe? Think Freud and late-19th century Vienna. Freud was into cocaine usage, and felt it was a cure for many ailments. Maybe that doctor injecting the prince was a colleague of Freud's?

No one syphilitic would suck the injection site. Maybe it was the morphine or something similar.
