Disappointed with this movie

Seriously, I was pretty sure it was going to come out at the end that this woman was doing it for the money or had some sort of mental handicap...

The real tragedy of this movie is that I spent two hours watching it.

Seriously, you're mentally handicapped. Doing it for the money? Are you insane? This is one of those WHAT IF movies. You're a freaking idiot. Go blog about your favorite movie Glitter.

Don't get upset. He's no doubt a conservative, and this movie just went against his principles.

I enjoyed this movie.

She did have a mental handicap. She thought giving money to third world nations would make everything alright. It never occurred to her(or the writer)that until these countries can look after themselves - and not rely on handouts - they'll always be in the gutter.

And yes I wasted a night on this crap as well.

reply

Quite true as a general principle, Lawrence - obviously nations that rely on handouts will get nowhere.

However, i've not yet seen the film! I'd like to - but I am deeply conservative - and given the previous poster here, I wonder if I'd like the film.

Long Live George W. Bush!

This film is a romance before anything else. It is NOT about partisan politics. There is a lot of idealism here, but these values are not unique to democrats or republicans. There is nothing here that George Bush wouldn't approve of. Laura Bush would love this film.

reply

I very much doubt either of the Bushes would understand this film, and while it is a beautiful love story, it is very much about politics and the spectacular failure we have made of the Millennium Goals.

It's funny to read such different comments - "not at all about partisan politics" and "very much about politics"! Thanks for your comments though.
