I kinda like the speech he made at the Rodeo

when the US nation was still in grief and felt hurt after terrorists made their attack on us on 9/11 and so much concern that our men in the war in Iraq would succeed and return home safely, Borat made a speech in front of Americans in a way that it sounds like he was comforting us and that America should keep their heads up and be proud and not let a single terrorist step on top of us.

Then he started singing his national anthem to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner...And you know what? right there I felt that Borat was kind of trolling

reply

Oh God are you really that delusional?
He was trolling from the very start!

"Support your war of terror." (implying that the war itself is an act of terror, and rightly so.)

And what he said about bush "drinking the blood of every(!) Iraqi women and child"... that really didn't rang any bells for you? Really now, you thought he's serious?

Of course, most of the retarded 'Muricans in that rodeo where cheering out loud, very well aware of what he said, there was no way to misunderstand, except for the war "of" terror thing, which was a clever thing by him.
At first they all believed he simply has grammar problems, but later many started to get it - unlike you.

The anthem was another genius thing.
He basically sang the same *beep* Americans sing while holding their heart, suppressing tears of freedom and patriotism while the tune plays - he simply used other words and another country - the message was the very same though and all the sudden they all go "booo!"

How fvcked up are people in that country that they cheer to drinking blood of ALL Iraqi women and children but start to freak out when their fvcking anthem is 'abused'?

Good Christians, every single one of them.
Another thread here asks if the movie is anti-american.
I wonder how stupid or delusional some people have to be to not understand how hard this movie is indeed bashing America, its double-moral system, the racism and alienation of everyone who disagrees or thinks differently.

Use your brain man!

You're spot on. I get the feeling that many of the threads on here are trolling too though. Otherwise, the alternative is it flies over people's head's in a scary way.

They weren't cheering him on. That's some editing that you got fooled by.

What's your proof of that?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

According to the article I read titled "What was Real in Borat" the rodeo manager seems to differ with you on the authenticity of that scene. Here's one part of the article-

What happened: The event caused quite a stir. John Saunders, the Salem Civic Center?s assistant director, told the Roanoke Times that if Borat and crew hadn?t high-tailed it out of the arena, ?There would have been a riot. They would have been killed.?

No where in article does it say that anyone from rodeo scene believes editing resulted in the event being shown differently than it really was. However, other participants from the movie do complain and were very upset by the film. Those poor frat boys, bless their hearts, sued. They?re seeking unspecified damages for ?humiliation, mental anguish, and emotional and physical distress, loss of reputation, goodwill and standing in the community.? I'm hoping they didn't reach a settlement and that they did indeed suffer each of those things as they would be well deserved, in my opinion. But that's a whole other post. My point is, if others complained about deception or being shown in a bad light why didn't the town, the rodeo association or the manager speak up when others did? Seems to me what we saw was real.

The scene is also satire (as well as other parts of the movie), something you didn't seem to snag. Obviously some clever editing was involved. The idea of a stadium full of Americans cheering about drinking the blood of other people is laughable. Also minorities are the criminals in the vast majority of racially motivated violence here. I've also never understood the crime in showing respect and pride for one's country. But non Americans already know everything about America.

then you're the butt of the joke.
