Ok, I just watched this and was not impressed. I think it would have been better filmed in real life. Grendel was not a sympathetic character, and granted not much of the inner plot had anything to do with the epic poem, but I think they could have done better.

Grendel was hard to understand and Beowulf was made out to be a goin' commando beast of a man that has about 3 seconds worth of willpower.

I think a fun drinking game would be to slam a shot whenever he tells you he is BEOWULF! :D

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought he needed to tell us he was Beowulf just a few more times in order to let it sink in.

Grendel is supposed to be hard to understand, unless you're fluent in Old English.
