plot..."difficulties"
it is never brought up whether Beowulf is ACTUALLY a mythical hero, in the sense that his abilities breach and ultimately surpass that of mere regular, mortal Men...and whether that power extends to his vocal chords, diaphragm and lungs...which is a problem, as while he is battling Grendel, he merely YELLS to distract and get the drop on his foe. Had not one of the other "heroes"/armed guards not tried the...if not tactic, CERTAINLY reaction to being in battle? Yelling their damn heads off??
It seems a wee bit iffy to me
