I really cannot understand the hype surrounding this show- i caught it after watching Extras and i found it so irratating. I cannot believe that the BBC would commision such utter crap. I know alot of people love the show and some may ask why i came to the Board to bitch about the show. Normally i wouldn't, and i completely respect that alot of people enjoy Catherine Tate- but i really really cant belive how bad this programme is and i need to know that im not alone!

Agree, this show is pure pigswill. I only watch it as it follows extras, but soon end up turning it off. To be honest, I've never been a fan of these shows, as thought Harry Enfield and Fast show were rubbish and unfunny also.
Tate just comes across as unlikeable, especially the 'am i bovvered' girl and the swearing gran.
To sum up, its CRAP
For some reason the BBC seem to think that she is something special.
I suspect that the viewing figures are going to be strong because of its positioning between Extras and Absolute Power. I have also heard that the DVD sales are strong.
Read a newspaper review a couple of weeks ago that compared the show to Emma Thompson's series from 1988...brought back all sorts of bad memories. Does anyone else remember how terrible that was!? The horror!!
The bad news is that the BBC have some even worse stuff lined up. Radio 4 who brought us Little Britain, The League of Gentlemen, Alan Partridge etc still pick some rot. They have had a sketch show called "The Bearded Ladies" - just pray that the it doesn't get commissioned for TV!!
Oh yeah - that Emma Thompson show was drivel. But I have to admit I fancied the pants off her.

Cathrine Tate is good, but the last couple of episodes were a bit crap.

I think catherine tate is hilarious, she has such an amazing range, although I have to admit some of the sketches ar a bit tedious,
to all the old crones out there whining about how crap it is, there this new fangeled invention called a remote! one can channel its magical powers to change the channel if you dont like what your watching! jesus christ!
