Not only is her chav charcter a direct rip-off of Vicky Polard from Little Britain but is completly false to what working class chav girls act like. Shes from too well-off a background to know anything about what these people are really like and relies solely on stereotypes.
Chavs are alot worse in real life.
She's been doing that character as part of her stand-up routine for over eight years now, long before Vicky Pollard. I wouldn't worry about if it's realistic or not, everyone calls me a chav and I'm nothing like her, but you get people like that.
shareOne major difference between Lauren and Vicky Pollard is that Lauren is meant to be from the South East and Vicky is meant to be from the South West. So, they speak differently. And although both characters are essentially horrific chav teenage girls, I think they're performed in very different ways. Lauren is very well played by Catherine Tate - I have actually heard girls talking like that - but I think that Vicky is funnier because of the sheer ridiculousness of the things that she says.
Of course they've brought forth juniper berries, they're juniper bushes!

OMG "real chavs" - i am speechless at how stupid and narrowminded that expression is! there's no such thing as a 'real chav' - its a derogatory term!!
Also, why does everyone (who have probably never avtually seen the show) give the generic "All she does is rip off Vicky Pollard" response, when the character Lauren is clearly different from Vicky.
Does Catherine's character have a Bristol accent?
Does she wear a pink Kappa jacket?
Does she say 'yeah but no but yeay but no but' all the time?

i love both of them but I never thought they were all that simpler. Lauren was more of a trash talker to people while Vicky didn't seem to talk trash she just seem to talk to much. hahaha I do think Lauren is funnier.
