Better than A Tale of Two Sisters

Which is better Shutter or A Tale of Two Sisters?

reply

Oh, most definitely A Tale of Two Sisters.

Shutter is quite possibly the scariest movie I've ever seen, but it isn't as subtle or indirectly thought-provoking as A Tale of Two Sisters. Great effort was put in to both films, but A Tale of Two Sisters was definitely cared for a lot more.

Both are great, but A Tale of Two Sisters is definitely the strongest film of the two.

Definitely a Tale of Two Sisters.
Shutter is a good movie, I really enjoyed it.
But in my book it doesn't even come close to A Tale of Two sisters, if for the only fact that I find that movie amazing.

Well, imo, Shutter is better in the scare factor, but overall, A Tale of Two Sisters is a better film.

ATOTS isn't really one to compare to other Asian Horrors, it's out of their league.

I prefer a tale of two sisters way more!

Shutter was more effective as a horror (ie scarier) but I actually slightly preferred Tale of Two Sisters as a film overall.

A Tale of Two Sisters is by far the better of the two. Shutter is pretty overrated in my eyes, it has no scares, pointless plot, medicore acting but a pretty good ending.

"This is Fu Manchu. Once again the world is at my mercy."

I don't know... Tale does have its really scary moments, albeit few and far between. But yeah, Shutter is more of a straight-on ghost movie. Like apples and oranges.

Both are different. Overall ATOTS is better.

I did not really care for a tale of two sisters. To me comparing the two films is like comparing The sixth sense to Candyman. I like to be freaked out by a horror movie- I mean why else watch one? The sixth sense and the tale of two sisters was meant to get you caught up in the plot twists. Over all I felt a little more satisfied with Shutter in general. Granted I love movies that make you contemplate when I watch a film that is catagorized as "horror" I want to be peeing my pants not sitting there thinking "hmmm". I wanted a disturbing fairytale when I watched a tale of two sisters, maybe slightly different but generally the same good quality I get from all my doses of Asian horror- with this i felt like I did not quite get what I wanted. Sorry, but Shutter Exceeded my expectations and, for me, A tale of two sisters was a flop.

Well, we'll agree to disagree :) you've got some good points--TOTS isn't a straight on horror flick, and if that's what you're looking for, you'll be sorely disappointed. I would by no means call it a "flop"--me loves it--but you're right in your point.
