Save Wildfire? I think you'd be more likely to bring back Rosanne

I loved the show, but all the threads and call this or that 800 number will not resurrect the show. No disrespect to those who want it to continue, but it's not a 7th Heaven where it was saved for an extra season due to the large ratings. And of course as pointed out, no real fan wants the show to nose dive into the "Please Put It Out Of Misery" mode like Dawson's Creek (latter half of season 5-the entire season 6) and 7th Heaven season 11 (and you can possibly argue as far back as season 8). When I first saw the previews for Wildfire (and just nearly any ABC Family original series), I thought the show would only last one season (two if they were luck) so 4 seasons for that show is respectable. All they could really do is switch couples around once again if they were to do another season and that would be like Dawson's Creek in its final seasons when Joey would want Dawson back when it looks like he's finally past her and in a relationship with somebody like Jen and then she eventually gets back with Pacey (I know that's not exactly how it happened but she ends up with both). I don't want to see another Matt/Kris pairing or another Dani/Matt breakup so the wedding and the endings were a good way to close up the series. Basically, I'd like to remember a good show for being entertaining. I hate remembering a show like 7th Heaven and saying it was good up until 2003 or Dawson's Creek which was good up until 2001. And I say the same thing about the other ABC Family shows I watch like Greek and Lincon Heights, if they're out of ideas, give it a respectable ending and let it go when it's still enjoyable. Most of all, I would hate for a good quality show to have a horrible season like Rosanne did on the final season (If only they would have ended that in 96 with a better season finale) of Family Matters where you have your main characters leaving.

i agree. im glad it ended the way it did. it was a great show, but i wouldn't want it to continue and suffer the same fate as those other shows you mentioned. i stopped watching 7th heaven after they brought in that baseball kid, martin, i think what's his name was. i mean, come on matt, simon, AND mary (i think that was jessica's characters name. it's been so long) all left. i don't know how they could've continued after those three left. i'm surprised they didn't dump lucy as well. i didn't even know that 7th heaven ended up until a few days ago.

They need to have at least one more season, because that was not a series finale. That was a season finale, at best. Nothing was resolved except Junior and his dad stopped being butthurt at each other.

You don't end at the biggest event of a TV show. That's like ending when Tony Perkins runs into the basement dressed as his mother. People want more; they wanna see what happens next. There needs to be a d'enouement, a conclusion, not, "Okay, you get to see the characters happy for 30 seconds! WHOOT!"

With Wildfire still around, Kris and Junior still in wherever the ƒü¢k this show takes place, and three or four issues that still need answered, there's plenty of room to continue. Besides, season five had apparently been written when ABC Family sh*t on the biggest thing they ever had.
