always a 'hit new show'
I watched the first few minutes of the pilot of this show, and never turned it on again.
Here's my question: how is it that networks, in particular ABC Family, bill all their new series as "our new hit show" when no ratings have come in to substantiate that claim? Surely the numbers can be fudged when screening with a test audience. ABC Family, I've noticed, begins every new series by telling us that it's already a hit; they've done it with GREEK (dreadful) and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" (even more dreadful ((just as a side note, count the number of times they say the word "sex" in Secret Life; I ususally count upward of fifty(((I HAVE to watch that show, by the way... or leave the room. My wife watches and loves it)))))).
So are these shows being watched because we're told it's a great show, and our collective unconsciousness says, well, they said it's a hit, maybe I'll watch.
Now I will grant you that no network will advertise a show as being mediocre, but, again, ABC Family seems to be the worst for this.
