Question about the wedding...

Todd was still at boarding school. Im assuming the actor playing his part couldnt be a part of the show anymore, so instead of killing off his character, they sent "Todd" away to boarding school to give us a reason for why he wasn't in any more episodes. Kris's mother, I do believe, was only in one or two episodes. She wasn't a part of Kris's life, and by Kris's definition (Family being people who have stuck by eachother and helped eachother out), wasn't a part of her family. Instead, Kris asked Gene and Pablo to take the place of her parents in the wedding. Hope this helped, and sorry if I was wrong about the reason Todd wasnt there, I was just making an assumption. Just watched all 4 seasons on Netflix this week and noticed that his character disappeared so I came up with that reasoning.
