Wildfires Season four Wedding never meant to be series finale

Producers planned to unite Kris and Junior. But their wedding was not the intend be series finale for the show. People are saying it felt rushed, it was never suppose to be the end. Unresolved issues with every characters. Season 5 already written and ready to be filmed in March 2008, abc family canned it.
ABC family is killing its legacy.

I can't say I blame ABCFamily for cancelling the show. Even if the behind-the-scenes didn't know this was their last season, that was still not excuse for the excessive amount of time spent on Krunior and too little on other storylines. Matt, Dani, Jean and Pablo have always had their storylines/characters in the B plotline, but this season Jr. and Kris were the focus of the A and B storylines to the point of overkill.

And, the wedding is a dumb way to unite the characters anyway when Kris and Jr. both have commitment issues and are far from mature themselves.

I'm rather shocked to read Micah Alberti is committed to saving the tv series (over on Cortese's website) when the writers and Kruniors fans have constantly trashed his character. Then, again, perhaps he is committing to saving the show because now since Krunior is wrapped, his character will get a decent wrap and not the sorry C plotline crap he has been foisted with this season.

I feel bad for kid who plays Todd. Not even invited back to be included in the rushed wedding finale. That must suck. Same for the guy who plays Uncle Jesse.

reply

That's because Todd was an awkward, annoying, and sh*tty character that nobody gave a rat's ass about. The fact that it took them three seasons to figure that out is surprising.

I try to bring the horror board mentality to everywhere I go here. You'll get used to it. Right now, I'm hosting a thread there talking about whether "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by Scorpions or "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin should be the theme song of New Orleans.

My take at life is that there are too many horrible and depressing events in the world to be depressed about. You have a form a sense of humor about anything and everything, no matter how "sacred", in order to get through life. If you let all the depressing events depress you, then life just sucks.

Or, alternatively, you can become a political activist and actually change the world that way. Political activism leads to actual social change which means less inequality, more awareness about the intersectionalities between racism, sexism, and classism (you can never actually get rid of those, but you can make people more aware of the overt and subtle ways in which the 3 are allowed to continually co-exist), and you can feel positive about yourself and others because you know you are making world a better place to live in even though depressing and horrible events still happen. Of course, having a sense of humor does help, when people are in general so bloody ignorant about the root causes of racism, sexism, classism, and inequality.

reply

"Political activism leads to actual social change..."

Ah, the naïveté of youth.

Politics is about power-hungry people trying to make their way to the top. The US worked in the beginning because the founding fathers were businessmen trying to build this country. Once career politicians took over, it became a power game.

Political activism does very little and works just as often (why do you think protests against the war, against high gas prices, against nuclear weapons, against damn near everything haven't worked). To say it does is lying to yourself so you don't have to believe that your cause isn't going anywhere. It's like yelling at a brick wall to move. This isn't to say that all political activism doesn't work, but the ones on major issues move so slowly that they won't be resolved during your lifetime (i.e. even a brick wall falls over time).

Besides, political activism isn't going to stop jihad from flying planes into buildings or stopping angsty teenagers with social issues who have listened to too much Mayhem and ICP from shooting up a building because it makes them look "733t".

Hence, humor.

And they'll tell you black is really white

Do you think women got the right to vote just by sitting at home and complaining? It took a little over half a century but thanks to courageous women such as Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, women now have the right to vote.

Do you think slavery just ended because rich white men got bored with whipping black men and raping women? No, it was because abolitionists spoke up for over 30 years.

Do you think the government just woke up one day and decided that women had the right to decide to have an abortion? No. It took a court case and many years of feminist speaking out against back alley abortions.

Do you think segregation just ended on its own because the white people in the South realized it was racist? No. It took Emmett Till's death, the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the combination of the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power movement to end many of the injustices perpetrated towards African-Americans.

And, yes, humor does work as a tool in political activism. Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues is very activist in its content, but it uses to humor to enlighten about violence against women and all proceeds from the show go to women's shelters.

I am a political activist because I recognize something that you don't and probably won't ever get: change occurs slowly but change can happen if people work together. All the political activists I know are very aware of this fact. We aren't sitting on our butts and giving up though. Of course, I happen to know my history, which I doubt you do, considering the passe vent you tried to pass off as some form of wisdom. I very much doubt you got how racism, sexism, and classism intersect as well and I doubt you ever will.

Bookreader,
Jerry is dead, Dave sucks, take a shower and get a job.

This thread is about a stupid show with a horse that has been taken off the air!

reply

Scab16,

If you have issues with how and where this discussion has evolved, you ought to take them up with HelltoPay and Solitare. I only threw my two cents into it, and got attacked by HelltoPay. Well, I have the right to defend myself. So, if you are going to whine, next time you decide to whine, don't act like I won't notice the selectivity of your whining.

Bookreader83 who doesn't give a damn about Jerry or Dave, has taken a shower, and has a job.

Obviously Bookreader you missed my thinly veiled insult at your left wing activist BS and took it as a personal assault, which activated your "Victim reflex" (found in all liberal nut jobs).

I am sure you are young an naive, so I will just let Helltopay straighten you out. It would not be fair to pile on.

pwnd! nice job helltopay

Do the world a favor, stop cutting your arms and SLIT YOUR THROAT!

reply

Really, helltopay, do think you are going to shut me up just because you don't know what the hell you are talking about? Your comments regarding slavery obviously reveal you haven't studied the subject and have a general history knowledge of it at best.

I might add WF over its over 4 seasons did delve into a little into politics. Particularly where Dani is concerned, so I see no harm in bringing up political matters here. (And, unlike the writers, I have no intention of dropping the subject just become a few simple-minded hicks are pissed off.)

Furthermore, I never said abortion was illegal. I never said it was illegal. So stop acting like I did. Better yet, why don't you quote me since you seem to so ardently believe I said it was illegal.

When the Civil War began, the reason it was fought had nothing to do with slavery. That didn't enter unless late in the game and even then it wasn't the main issue at hand.

"how long did each of those issues last before anyone else gave a rat's ass about them?"

Clearly, you are a person who does not have to worry about discrimination, because if you did, you wouldn't have written that (again). If you had read actually read my posts, you would see that I did address that your rather redundant question/statement. (Redundant because you bring it up in nearly every post. I already addressed it in a previous post. Furthermore, you added no new insight or clarity to your redundancy in that statement.) However, you are more interested in breathing in your own hot air rather than in actually reading and responding me.

reply

Scab, darling, if you actually knew how to *beep* read, you wouldn't have written this:

"Obviously Bookreader you missed my thinly veiled insult at your left wing activist BS and took it as a personal assault, which activated your "Victim reflex" (found in all liberal nut jobs)."

You want to quote me on where I took *your* words as a 'personal assault'? Because darling dearest sugar pie, I had no issue with your ignorance and rants about my political beliefs. I was merely telling you why I was replying to helltopay. Stupid jackass.

reply

[deleted]

Darling, I've heard much worse insults. As a feminist, one has to endure taunts from stupid, sexist people all the time. If you and helltopay honestly think I've never encountered remarks such as yours before, you both really are idiots. On a historical scale, it falls as barely a blip in terms of insults. It is the typical run of the mill insults you two are making that are generally thrown at feminists and social activists. Perhaps if you two were actually read up on your history, you would be more *original* in your comebacks.

By the way, sweet cakes, you still haven't quoted me regarding your accusation about the victim complex and your post. Oh, wait, I wonder why. Could it be because it is all in your head? You can't make reality match your fantasies so you wildly accuse. You got called out on it and your non-response only reveals that you can't back yourself up. When you get back in touch with reality, honey bun, stop trying to project your total ignorance about the world onto me.

By the way, if you had read my first post carefully regarding political activism, you would have noted that I was mocking the media's love affair with John *beep* McCain too. Instead, all you guys selectively focused on was my Obama mention and wrongly assumed I was a goo-goo Obama follower. (I will vote for him, of course, but he was not my choice for presidential nominee.) Which should give you folks some idea how long I've been rolling my eyes at you. I menas, seriously, picking and choosing selective parts of my posts to focus on? (Which is another age old way of trying to make feminists and social activists shut up.... Honey, it doesn't work and it never has.)

reply

So, according to you, only young people are activists? If you knew *beep* about anything, you would know that people of all ages are activists. Most of the people I know who are activists are in their 40s and 50s. But, being as delusional and ignorant as you are, you cling to your stereotypes that only people in their 20s and 30s are activists. Dumb *beep*

i do agree that i felt that their wedding was rushed
and i was upset that they spent more time talking about things that really didnt matter...
but as far as ending it, i dont think they couldve ended it in a better way
with jr. and kris marrying and kris getting wildfire, but it was rushed
and i am upset that it came to a series finale...it was one of my favorite shows

reply

Yeah, I kind of wonder what happened afterward... will they live at Raintree or Davis Farms? Where will Wildfire stay, and will he be a racehorse or stud? Whatever happened to the clinic and Dani? What about Jean & Pablo? There are so many unanswered questions left.

Also, it would've been nice to see some of the wedding reception. :o)

reply

Seriously did you even WATCH the final 3 episodes? Kris/Junior were at Davis while Dani/Matt were at RainTree. Dani moved her horses over to RainTree in 410 Being Mrs Junior and remained there throughout the last 2 episodes.
