It Was OK 5/10

The plot is fine and it has lots of throwbacks which is what you were counting on so it delivers on that. However, just way too much horrible CGI and lengthy action sequences. The CGI (not just in the speedforce chrono sphere) looks awful in almost all scenes, almost cartoon like. The film could easily have been 15 or 20 minutes shorter if they would have just cut down on the bloated action sequences and I think that would have vastly improved it. I also felt like the film lacked a true villain. Zod is just kind of there, but we don't learn anything new or meaningful about him. It would have been nice if he was given some lines or we get a bit more of Shannon as Zod. It's far from great, but not terrible. Kind of a generic middle of the road superhero movie. Maybe that is too high as I really wanted to like this as a fan of the characters.
